Success is no accident or serendipity. You have to be willing to fight for it; be a warrior. It takes time, dedication and great effort to achieve. However, in order to reach success, you must first know how to define it. My uncle was a very successful guy—worked very hard, never got married—who lived to be ninety-one years old. Before he passed away, I asked him: How do you define success? Is it money? Is it power? He told me it was none of the above. Success is about empowering people. The more you empower people, the more you are going to succeed. Those words really stuck with me and are what has propelled me to create a movement of smart, educated, well-informed, independent people. And the form of empowerment I am serving is capitalism and wealth creation.
When it comes down to it, my success did not come from my political affiliation, my attitude towards social issues, not even my background. I succeeded because I’m a capitalist, I’m an entrepreneur, and I’m a warrior. This is what I inspire to teach others to do. Capitalism gives freedom to entrepreneurs to look to themselves as the engine to grow beyond their circumstances. It gives you the opportunity to put up a fight to reach your goals no matter where you start. This is much better than the alternative of just accepting whatever you are born into is where you have to remain for the entirety of your life. And with the recent democratization of entrepreneurship, the opportunities are endless. If you keep an open mind, have a competitive spirit and are willing to get down in the trenches, there is a way for you to create your own wealth. Too often, people do a little bit of hard work and think its enough. Here’s new for you...it’s not! Winners work constantly and still think they are lacking. This is that capitalist, warrior like mentality that creates real wealth.
Now, when I say wealth, I am not just talking about money. Money is a form of wealth. But wealth is not necessarily money. Wealth encompasses much more than material possessions or cash; it includes resources as well. However, money can play a big role in the creation of wealth, but probably not for the reasons you may think. Make no mistake about it; money is first and foremost about freedom. It is not about acquiring things nor flaunting it in front of family and friends. It is all about freedom. Freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want. Freedom to tell your boss or whoever is running your life to take a hike. The freedom to take back control of your life. This is why capitalism and entrepreneurship holds so much importance and is key to the empowerment of people.
My mandate is to empower more people to become bigger-than-life killers who create wealth, not just money—but who do so without resorting to corruption, cheating, or exploitation of others. The best way to do this is just good old-fashioned hard work. Go out there, find your entrepreneur spirit, lead with your inner capitalist instinct and fight the good fight. I’ve laid out the outline of what success means to me, now it’s time for you to decipher your own definition of success. However, you can’t just sit there and listen, your actions are what count.
