Ten alumni chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. are collaborating to host Winter Takeover, a historic joint charitable event on January 11, 2019 at MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Oxon Hill, MD.
The Winter Takeover event will take place in the MGM National Harbor Theater and Grand Ballroom and will feature live performances by prominent national and local acts and music by top local DJs playing in both rooms. Other event features include free hot hors d'oeuvres, VIP seating, vendors offering high quality merchandise, on-site photographers and ample free parking in the MGM National Harbor parking garage.
The purpose of the Winter Takeover event is to celebrate the organizations’ Founders Days and raise money for charitable causes supported by the philanthropic arms of each organization. These causes include college scholarship programs, youth mentoring programs, programs that support victims of domestic violence and human trafficking and groups that serve the homeless and hungry. Winter Takeover is the first local collaboration of this kind between these service organizations, which are renowned for their national and local charitable efforts.
