"La Vikina" has made it to the finals and needs your vote to win the crown of Univision's international singing competition "La Reina De La Cancion".
Victoria Lopez AKA “La Vikina” is a local Miami singer with a voice made for performing on stage and has been doing so, all over Miami in some of the most well-known venues including music festivals like “Calle Ocho” for the past 11 years. Now She is a leading contender on Univision’s international, female singing competition “La Reina de la Cancion”, that is a Spanish version of American idol and Big Brother.
The new show airs Sundays in 24 countries and produced by reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee where contestants are filmed day to day in the camera filled home as they work on their weekly performances until “La Reina De La Cancion” (Queen Of The Song), is officially crowned. Miami’s very own “La Vikina” has the voice and talent to be able to take the crown and bring it back home but needs the public to support and vote for her this Sunday.
Watch and bite your nails with the rest of us as the show’s three judges — Latin music icons Joss Favela, Natti Natasha, and Olga Tañón — offer plenty of commentary and constructive criticism.
In a recent interview with the Miami New Times Vikina explained to them how she has been working on her voice and performance persona for over a decade and how difficult it has been to stay in a mostly male dominated industry with limited opportunities and went on to say “I’m so thankful I didn’t quit when things got tough, because here I am, faced with the biggest opportunity of my life. I feel fully prepared for this moment.”
