Creative Director Nicole Dahl, formerly of Hotel Congress, has been working with a team of investors on the bespoke hotel since March of 2017. The property concept rests on the foundation of two core values, “travel for all,” focusing on affordable rates attainable for all types of travelers, and “experience your destination,” curating an experiential stay representative of local Tucson culture.

The 93-room hotel’s freeway sign boasts, “Vintage Vibes, Modern Perks” offering a retro aesthetic, the property is peppered with hints of the past- 1960’s typewriters, rotary phones, bright colored in-room refrigerators, and a vintage pinball machine, while offering attractive amenities, such as poolside cabanas, free breakfast, a gym, streaming flat screen TVs, outdoor games, a sauna, locally roasted coffee and loose-leaf tea, a regionally focused bar menu, and complimentary drinks upon check-in.

Hotel McCoy’s grand opening begins at 5pm with vinyl spins from DJ Buttafly, followed by a poolside acoustic performance from local blues legend, Tom Walbank, and closes out with a 9pm set from Tucson’s favorite jazz/blues/hip-hop collective, Street Blues Family.

Throughout the event, attendees will enjoy the lobby’s Tucson Art Gallery, a collection of various mediums by Tucson artists, drink specials at the Tucson Sunshine Climate Club, live mural paintings from Modern Aquarian, Alyssa Robinson, and Something Wonderful as well as offerings from local restaurants, room tours, Zen Zone massage specials from Tucson body therapist, Sara Whipp, and will have a chance to win a free night’s stay via the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona Benefit Raffle.
