2021-08-30 19:00:00 - Toledo, Ohio, United States - (PR Distribution™)

Toledo, Ohio author, Sarah Charles, in launching her debut novel, Beneath the Destiny Stone, this Labor Day. She will donate 10% of the profits from her book sales and 100% of the profits from her book merchandise to The Three Penny Project, a non-profit she started with the hopes of eliminating food disparity within the community.

Sarah wrote Beneath the Destiny Stone as a way to distract herself while recovering from a spinal injury and fell in love with the writing process. The novel centers around Fiona, a bartender from Detroit who time travels to medieval Scotland, falls in love, accidentally causes an historic battle (The Battle of the Clans), and opens her own tavern—all while fleeing the time-soldiers who are after her.

The Three Penny Project, Sarah’s charity, intends to plant fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, herbs, and other food-bearing plants throughout her home city of Toledo. Because these plants  are perennials, they will produce food year after year. Community members are free to take the produce as they need it, free of charge.

In addition to writing and working on her charity, Sarah worked in the mental health field for many years and once owned a custom cake business.

“Getting my book published is a dream come true, but using it to help the community is the bigger, better reward.”
