The B Team takes flight

10/25/2018 17:49 - TORONTO, ONTARIO - (PR Distribution™)

Simran Jolly, a grade 10 student from Toronto, Ontario started an environmental initiative, called The B Team, to save solitary bees. She is doing this by raising awareness about the issue. She is also working with the government to place bee boxes in parks around Canada. Since solitary bees lay eggs underground, fertilizers and urbanization are causing their extinction. The bee boxes that Simran is placing in parks will give these bees a shelter to lay their eggs and reproduce. Solitary bees are not aggressive and do not sting, therefore the public can feel safe around them. Simran believes it is important to save this species because they play a crucial role in the ecosystem and global food security. Email her solitarybeeteam@gmail.com if you have any questions or are interested in funding or helping her.
