Summit Automation’s Peak Door Automation System Receives UL 325 Certification

06/07/2019 06:00 - United States, Arizona, Phoenix - (PR Distribution™)

Summit Automation is proud to announce its flagship system, the Peak, is now ETL Listed certified to Underwriter’s Laboratory (UL) 325 standards.

The Peak is the first multi-slide door automation system in the U.S. to be ETL Listed certified to UL 325 standards. The UL certification coincides with the American Institute of Architects’ annual conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Summit Automation is premiering and demonstrating the Peak at the Andersen Windows and Doors booth.

The Peak multi-slide door automated system adds convenience and luxury to homes by using a belt and pulley system to open and close sliding door panels with the touch of a button. Nearly any type of sliding door can be used, as long as there is at least ¾ inch between the top of the panels and the head track. The system runs on a standard, dedicated 15-amp outlet, or it can be hardwired. A built-in encoder counts shaft revolutions, so the control box always knows where the panels are, if they are open or closed. The magnetic brake engages when the door panels are closed, locking the doors for the homeowner’s security. The doors can be opened from the outside with a keypad. The doors can also be opened manually with very little resistance by simply disengaging the magnetic clutch.

Highlights of the Peak system that helped earn the UL 325 certification include: a two-step safety feature, battery backup, independent forward and reverse speed controls; eco brake, self-close and auto open software; manual lock detection; and a single “super cable” communication. The all-aluminum motor features an adjustable drive pulley, built-in encoder and both a magnetic brake and clutch.

“Obtaining the UL 325 Certification is the culmination of a five-year effort and we thank Andersen Windows and Doors for their collaboration,” comments Jay Sperco, Summit Automation Co-Founder.

“I am very proud of the Summit Automation team for their achievements! This now allows architects to specify our system at the outset of a condominium project, allowing the homeowners an ultimate experience every time they open their doors.”
