The Tellico caters to one-story living

StoneMill Log & Timber Homes announces a stunning new log home floor plan that can also be constructed as a timber frame home. Located in Knoxville, Tennessee at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, StoneMill has guided homeowners across the U.S. through the complete design-build process.

“We want potential homeowners to feel comfortable, answer all of their questions, and to feel like they’re part of the StoneMill family,” said Mathew Sterchi, StoneMill VP of sales and marketing.

StoneMill has pre-designed plans for homes and cabins ranging from single room and bath, 900 sq. ft. log cabins to 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 3,400 sq. ft. timber frame homes. With 45 different designs, and the ability to modify the plans to individual needs, the StoneMill design team is ready to realize a potential log homeowner’s vision. “It isn’t about designing a home, it’s about being part of a creative process that for many, is a lifelong dream come true,” commented Remington Brown, StoneMill design manager.

The Tellico floor plan with 1,504 sq. ft., is a 1-level with a spacious great room, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a laundry room. The front porch extends the width of the house to enjoy the outdoors. Everything you need in a mid-size home.

For those who need more information, StoneMill hosts “Love of Logs” events 3 times a year. People come from across the U.S. to experience living in a log or timber frame home. They tour StoneMill model homes, area homes, and interact with experienced staff to have all their questions about log home living answered. “I really enjoy the Love of Logs event. Having so many people visit our models that are excited about building their own home, is contagious,” Rob Cantrell, StoneMill president remarked.

Log or timber frame home construction is a unique building industry. StoneMill has decades of experience along with its partnership with Creekside Construction, to take the project from concept to dry-in. Once the prospective homeowner finalizes the design, proper permits are obtained, and final approval has been given, log fabrication and hand-hewing begin at StoneMill’s Knoxville plant.

Meanwhile, a project manager will visit the build site to inspect the foundation, survey the area for accessibility, and meet with the local general contractor that will complete the project. Logs, materials, and equipment are shipped to the building location, and the home is erected by the Creekside Construction crew up to the “dry-in” stage. A local general contractor will complete the project.

With no local dealers, StoneMill operates its own mill, as well as employs the construction and trucking teams. This allows StoneMill to maintain full control over its quality and service.
