Sportito expands into Brazil
Customers able to play daily Fantasy Sports in Brazil using the innovative and engaging features of Sportito platform
Sportito, one of Europe's most recognised fantasy sports platforms (DFS), today announced the company will begin offering DFS contests to Brazilian consumers, only 4 months after the launch in India.
“Within the last few years, Brazil’s burgeoning fantasy sports market has dramatically evolved, feeding the appetite of the many passionate sports fans who love getting closer to the teams, athletes and sports they love” said Sportito Chief Executive Officer, Riccardo Mittiga. “Brazil is an important market for Sportito, as it combines most passionate football fans in the world with sophisticated, tech-savvy young (between 18 and 35) consumers – exactly the kind of people who love competing on Sportito.”
When it comes to Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), a study carried out by Technavio found that the growing market of DFS in Brazil could reach $1.5 billion by 2020, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over 20%. Daily Fantasy Football contributes roughly 60% to the industry of DFS in this country.
Brazil is the first country in LATAM region where Sportito will operate and will mark the third country where Sportito is available to consumers. Sportito Brazil will offer to players international and domestic football (soccer) challenges, as well as Basketball, Tennis, Golf and Cricket. Plans are in place to introduce Volleyball and Hockey by years end. The players are free from the salary cap restrictions, allowing them to choose the top players without having to worry about the budget. Real time data is also available for the users to track their teams live, thanks to the partnership with Sportradar AG global data provider
“Soccer is widely played and followed in Brazil. Soccer, as a favorite national pastime, has a wide audience irrespective of gender, age, or economic status. The popularity of the game and the rising Internet penetration in the country have propelled the growth of fantasy soccer and therefore our decision to offer Sportito in Brazil in a similar path as we did in India” added Riccardo Mittiga, Sportito CEO
