Progressive Computing, the well-established IT Consulting Firm located in Yonkers, NY, has been recognized by 5 different organizations for their outstanding leadership within Westchester County’s business community. The respective honors have been a representation of the company’s flexibility and resilience amidst a time of economic uncertainty for many of the small businesses in the area.
Published by Westchester Magazine, 914INC.’s readers’ have named Progressive Computing’s IT and Communication Service as ‘2020’s Best of Business’ in their second annual award ceremony. The title came despite stiff competition from many noteworthy vendors in the Hudson Valley area. More than 2,000 votes had been casted by local professionals and readers alike in the magazine’s online ballot system, which ultimately placed Progressive Computing on top.
The driving force behind this achievement has been CEO and Co-Founder of Progressive Computing, Ugo Chiulli, who helped start the company in 1993 with his partner, and COO, Robert Cioffi. Ugo Chiulli has also been recognized by Westfair Communications’ C-Suite Awards for his outstanding leadership and commitment to maintain client relationships while remaining physically distant.
“Doing nothing and hoping for the best was simply not an option if we wanted to remain in business,” said Ugo Chiulli, during his acceptance speech for the C-Suite’s award. “As steward of our culture, I felt that our first move was to keep communications flowing … There was just no room for our team to wonder what was going on around here.”
Chiulli was able to successfully keep his business afloat by delegating with his executive leadership team to reposition the company’s budget. The innovative methodology helped to lean out non-essential expenses and preserve all positions for the company’s current employees.
But the honors keep coming in for the IT Consulting Firm. Progressive Computing has also made noteworthy placement in Inc.5000’s list and has placed in the top 250 of CRN’s Managed Service Provider 500 list for its outstanding growth in the privately held sector.
The Inc.5000’s list has been a long-standing platform for many well-known companies to establish nationwide presence. It has been expanded to cover 5,000 companies from its humble 500 list, so that readers have a broader definition of success within the range of industries in the entrepreneurial realm.
In contrast, CRN’s Managed Service Provider 500 List has a more specific focus on top information technology providers, and serves as a valuable resource for companies looking to engage with noteworthy IT consultants and providers.
Progressive Computing has also made the pledge to support green and ecofriendly initiatives by receiving certification from the Green Business Partnership. The comprehensive study evaluates the administration of daily operations and offers specific steps to reduce ecological impact. Only organizations who complete these steps receive an official seal and notoriety for their effort in creating sustainable business practices.
“We invested significant time and effort into winning these awards because we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to self-improvement. Each achievement required hard work or proof of our capabilities, said Robert Cioffi. “The effort, not the award, was the reward. They each help elevate us to new heights. Thus those that elect to do business with us benefit from our organizational maturity and strength.”
