Norwall PowerSystems added the new Generac 24kW to its product line, the company announced on Monday. The 24kW tops out the Guardian Series as the most powerful air-cooled standby generator available anywhere. Max capacity of other brands is 20kW. Two models include the 7210 with a PWRview HEMS Automatic Transfer Switch, and the 7209 sold without a switch. Norwall lists the 7210 Generac 24kW with a 200-Amp PWRview ATS in their catalog alongside the Generac 7209 without an ATS.
According to a statement from Generac, the 24kW Generac Generator can save homeowners up to 8,000 dollars in product and installation costs compared to competing products with the same output capability. Generac 24kW Guardian generators are 70 percent smaller overall with a 50 percent smaller footprint. Compact size and 18-inch to house installation work for backyards and tight lot lines where the larger, liquid-cooled models take up too much space.
The PWRview service-rated automatic transfer switch (ATS) bundled with the Generac 7210 24kW Generator includes an industry first Home Energy Management System. HEMS allows the homeowner to monitor home energy use in real time using the Generac PWRview mobile app. Understanding how their home and family uses energy leads homeowners to make changes for up to 20 percent savings on their electricity bill. This makes the PWRview automatic transfer switch the first of its kind to provide energy saving functionality when not in use. Over time, homeowners could save enough to cover the cost of the generator. The PWRview ATS installs indoors or out and includes a service rated main disconnect.
