On September 8th, Auctions at Showplace will present choice selections of fine art, furniture, silver, jewelry, and decorative arts all fresh from New York City estates. 

Leading the sale is an impressive Camille Faure for Limoges Art Nouveau enamel on copper vase with a peony flower motif. Robust offerings in decorative arts continue with Royal Copenhagen “Blue Fluted” and “Full Lace” pattern porcelain dinnerware, Baccarat “Montaigne Optic” and “Laurent Perrier” crystal champagne flutes, Carl Aubock for Rosenthal Duo-Cobalt Blue stainless steel and enamel flatware and Rosenthal "Linear Terzo Blue Stem" pattern glassware. A selection of art glass includes pieces by Randy Strong, Karbler and David, R. Lalique, Espaivet, Vandermark, and Donald Carlson, while notable art pottery includes three Van Briggle vases.

Fine silver heading to the auction block includes a Louis Comfort Tiffany Collection vase, along two Tiffany & Co. footed bowls, an Art Deco hinged box, and an “English King” bowl. Other highlights are a set of six Evald Nielsen Danish cordial cups, a Portuguese Sarmento Lisboa three piece tea service, a set of six Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. place plates, an Art Nouveau Austrian Continental silver tray, Towle “Craftsman” pattern flatware and serving pieces, Gorham “English Gadroon” salad servers and a “Mythologique” ladle.

A strong lineup of modern furniture and design features a pair of Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb lounge chairs, Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen ‘Series 7’ chairs, a Gustav Stickley Mission Evenarm hall bench, an L & JG Stickley Mission sideboard, a pair of J. Robert Scott & Associates, Inc. "Athena" wall sconces with exotic wood veneer, an Achille Castiglioni for Flos "Arco" floor lamp, a Danish mid-century modern sideboard with sliding doors.

Fine art by hotly sought after artists includes a view of St. Paul’s cathedral by K.G. Somers-Yeates, “Cabaret du Lapin Agile” by Raymond Besse, and a Parisian street scene by Jean Remy. Those looking for modern and abstract art will find works by Betty Clark, Eugenio Carmi, Geoffrey Brunell, Betrand Dorny and others. Two modern bronze sculptures include a charming depiction of a nuclear family by Jose Buscaglia, and a stylized standing nude figure by Hugo Daini.

As always, Showplace will offer wonderful fine jewelry: a pair of 22K yellow gold, diamonds, and mabe pearl earrings, a pair of 14K yellow gold and mabe pearl pear-form earrings, an 18K yellow gold and freshwater pearls necklace, a Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co. 18K seagull brooch, a 14K heart brooch with pearls and hardstones, Hans Hansen silver pendants, a Georg Jensen “Torun” silver bracelet, a Hans Appenzeller silver cuff bracelet, and a group of 14K yellow gold earrings. Complementing the jewelry is an assortment of designer fashion including handbags by Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Fendi, and garments by Hermes and Oleg Cassini.
