New Indie Film Warning Shot Premieres at the Writers Guild Awards Theater

09/11/2018 11:00 - BEVERLY HILLS, CA - (PR Distribution™)

David Spade showed his hand on the red-carpet Thursday for the premiere of his first dramatic role in Warning Shot, an independent film to be released in theaters and video on demand (VoD) on September 14, 2018.

Sharing the evening’s spotlight with costars Tammy Blanchard, Onata Aprile, Niki Koss, Steve Eastin and the cast and crew, Spade told interviewers how he “couldn’t pass up this role” and how he has been looking for “cool inde film roles to play.” Spade plays a bad guy in this film, provoking a fight over water rights leading to violence and murder.

Tammy Blanchard (Audrey), who delivers a near perfect performance as the film’s heroine, glowed on the runway and promised viewers “the film is an exciting and fun suspense thriller! Its going to be great!”

During exit interviews after the movie, guests were raving about the film, leading the rookie producer Spero Stamboulis to claim “I’m so proud of the cast and crew. People seem to love the movie. It really feels like all our hard work to make this film has paid off!”

Spade and Blanchard deliver stellar performances alongside industry veterans James Earl Jones, Bruce Dern and 2018’s “soon to be most-hated villain” Guillermo Díaz playing Rainy, a mentally unstable hitman.  Díaz who is currently shooting a project in New York, emailed this to the producer, ”I'm so proud of this movie!  Every single one from my team who has seen Warning Shot thinks it's SUPER STRONG and POWERFUL!”

It was an incredible evening for this Indie film in Hollywood as guests were able to get up and close with the talented cast while sipping a glass Justin Vineyards wine.

If you weren’t Lucky enough to be at the premier in Hollywood, check out Warning Shot in theaters and video on demand (VOD) on September 14, 2018.

Plot: Audrey, a single mother to daughter, Cheyenne (played by 13 year old Onata Aprile), is trapped in a constant struggle to make ends meet. Facing eviction, her grandfather passes away and she inherits the family's farmhouse, for which the lucrative water rights are coveted by Calvin (Bruce Dern) -- a longtime business rival of Audrey's grandfather. Calvin's own grandson, Bobby (David Spade), is on a mission to prove that he can take on the family business, and decides to take matters into his own hands by hiring Rainy (Guillermo Díaz) and drug-addicted Jawari (Dwight Henry). Their job is to intimidate Audrey and Cheyenne into giving up the property. Once they abduct the innocent passerby David (Frank Whaley), Bobby's goons realize Audrey does not intend to go quietly and the situation quickly spirals out of control. In this 87 minutes high stake thriller, we witness the strength of a mother doing everything within her power to protect her young daughter.

Audiences will be on the edge of their seats as the plot unfolds and the wickedness of Spade and Díaz unfold.

The film marks a strong full-length cinematic debut for independent filmmakers, Director Dustin Fairbanks, Screenwriter Breanne Mattson and Producer Spero Dean Stamboulis, Aimee Ng, Will Wallace, and Ross Otterman.

After seeing the movie Warning Shot, you’ll never look at a glass of water the same way.
