For the first time in its history, the Light of the World Church will celebrate the Holy Supper, an annual event that drew over 600,000 faithful to Guadalajara, Mexico, remotely. From over 60 countries, members of the church will connect to a live digital event in which they will join with their families to a spiritual celebration and remembrance of the Lord’s Supper.
Families from all over the world have decorated their homes with grapes and wheat, alluding to the unleavened bread and unfermented wine used in the Holy Supper. The church’s faithful have not been discouraged by the change in the celebration, the church’s welcoming event registered close to 1 million social media interactions from all over the world.
“The Church is respectful of the recommendations of health authorities, and we’ve gone digital since March 16th of this year, because the Apostolic teaching of the Apostle of Jesus Christ Naasón Joaquin Garcia teaches us that we can comply with the recommendations of health authorities and not lose the spirituality and significance of our prayer services,” church spokesperson Isaias Campos, Jr mentions.
Broadcasts will be available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian, as well as ASL and LSM (Mexican sign language) at 6:00 PST August 14th, 2020 on the following digital platforms:
