Kimberly Cargile selected as Top Female Business Owner of the Year in Cannabis

Kimberly Cargile, C.E.O. of A Therapeutic Alternative, was recently selected as Top Female Business Owner of the Year in Cannabis by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry.

With over a decade of professional experience as an advocate and leader within the cannabis industry, Ms. Cargile has certainly proven herself as an influential professional and expert within her field. She is a dynamic, results driven leader who has demonstrated success in every role which she has ever served. Her impressive repertoire of important roles over the course of her career have included Fitness Trainer, Yoga Instructor and Reiki Practitioner. Ms. Cargile is the founder and owner of Woodland Roots, Yolo Family Farms, Dixon Wellness Collective, Davis Cannabis Collective, Modesto Cannabis Collective, Napa Cannabis Collective, Chuck’s Cannabis Collective and Khemia Manufacturing. She intends to open many more Retail Storefront Cannabis. Ms. Cargile also works as a Business Consultant for the Medical Cannabis Industry and teaches the section on Marijuana in the Alcohol and Other Drugs Course at Sacramento State University.

Before beginning her venture into medical cannabis, Kimberly obtained her Personal Fitness Trainer Certification in 2001. Having an interest in natural medicine and holistic health, she studied cellular and molecular biology as a pre-med student and majored in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology and focus on Social Justice. In 2006 and as a Presidential Scholar on the Dean’s List, she graduated from Humboldt State University.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Cargile has received awards, accolades and has been recognized for her outstanding advocacy and leadership within the cannabis industry. This year she will be considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and was selected as Top Female Business Owner of the Year in Cannabis by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). At the end of this year she will be honored at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala at the Plaza Hotel in NYC for this honor. In past years, Kimberly was the recipient of the Luminous Award from the National Women’s Business Association,  the Women Who Mean Business Award and she was named as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Lady Jane Society. Kimberly is celebrated as one of the Top Five Women to Watch, Best Advocate and as an Advocate of the Year by the Sacramento News and Review. Respectfully serving the title 40 Under 40, Kimberly was noted by the Sacramento Business Journal and Marijuana Ventures Magazine. She was voted as one of the Top Ten Most Influential People in the Cannabis Industry in Sacramento by Sacramento Alternative Magazine. 

In addition to these notable merits, Ms. Cargile has devoted a significant amount of her time and proficiency, serving as a medical cannabis patients’ rights advocate for the California Cannabis Industry Association, Women Grow, the California Growers Association, NORML, Americans for Safe Access and National Cannabis Industry Association.

Recently, Ms. Cargile begun studying the federal legalization of cannabis in other countries. While here in the USA, she diligently works to write and pass new regulations and is widely recognized by City and State Officials for maintaining and operating a model dispensary. In 2015, Kimberly worked tirelessly on the Medical Marijuana Safety and Regulation Act, giving tours of A Therapeutic Alternative to various stakeholders involved in the legislative process including: advocacy groups, legislators and regulators.  She was a vocal proponent and spokesperson for the 2016 Adult Use of Marijuana Act and was a stakeholder involved in the process of merging the legislature and voter initiative into the 2017 Medicinal and Adult Use of Cannabis Safety and Regulation Act. She has been deeply involved in the State Regulation process, providing education for the Bureau of Cannabis Control, California Department of Public Health and the California Department of Food & Agriculture.

With such a phenomenal impact on the medical cannabis industry, Ms. Cargile has assisted dozens of cannabis businesses from garden supply companies, to manufacturing companies, cultivation sites and dispensaries by incorporating her knowledge of procedures and mastery of the industry.

Looking back, Ms. Cargile attributes her success to both her education and mentors, her perseverance and remaining passionate in all her endeavors. When not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. For the future, Ms. Cargile hopes to see the federal legalization of cannabis and aims to continue her impeccable leadership for the industry.
