James Wohl selected for IAOTP's Lifetime Achievement Award

James P. Wohl, Attorney, Honorary Consul for Côte D'Ivoire, and founder of the Law Offices of James P. Wohl, was recently selected for the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). 

 

While membership in the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in and of itself, only a few members are chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award. These extraordinary awardees have been selected for their longevity in their careers, services to society, and influence on respective industries. In December, Mr. Wohl will be honored at the IAOTP's Annual Awards Gala at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas in December 2022.

Mr. Wohl has over 50 years of legal expertise and has established himself as an experienced professional and skilled attorney. He has exhibited success as a dynamic, results-driven leader throughout his legal career. 

 

Mr. Wohl studied Engineering at Princeton University for three years before pursuing a law career. He was then admitted into a unique program at Stanford University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science after his first year of law school and his Juris Doctorate from Stanford Law School after his third year of law school. Mr. Wohl, therefore, saved a year while working his way through law school and passing the California State Bar Exam. In addition to his academic achievements, Mr. Wohl excelled in law and passed the Hawaiian Bar Exam. As a lawyer, he began his career at Carlsmith, Carlsmith, Wichman & Case in Honolulu, and Hilo, Hawaii. Then, in 1968, he moved to New York City. Mr. Wohl passed the New York State Bar Exam and worked as an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson to expand his knowledge and experience. 

 

Mr. Wohl's ethics and notoriety position him for success. In 1970, he returned to Hilo, Hawaii, and established his firm. In addition, he formed and became president of The Hawaii Land Corporation, which specializes in property sales, construction, and condominium development. He purchased properties and erected high-rise ocean-front buildings and apartments via this firm. Mr. Wohl's firm, West Hawaii Cablevision Inc., constructed and operated the Kona and Waimea cable television systems.

 

Mr. Wohl, a well-known published author, wrote for Playboy Magazine before moving to Los Angeles to accept an offer of a motion picture option and screenplay deal from the famed Chuck Norris. By 1980, he authored a series of popular novels that received rave reviews and were widely distributed worldwide. 

 

While residing in Hollywood, Mr. Wohl initially acquired the iconic Sunset Towers, a 15-story art deco skyscraper he transformed into apartments. Then. Mr. Wohl spent five years as a law professor at the University of La Verne's San Fernando Campus before establishing the Law Offices of James P. Wohl. He and his business partner began work on the Red Rover Mine near Acton, California, a historic gold mine. 

 

Mr. Wohl traveled and conducted business for eight years while residing in Paris, London, and Los Angeles. Finally, he was named honorary diplomatic consul for Cote d'Ivoire, with a consular office in Las Vegas, and he continued to grow with his legal business in Los Angeles. 

 

Mr. Wohl has earned several honors and has been recognized in media for his remarkable leadership and dedication to the legal field during his lengthy career. This year, he will be considered for a featured article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. In 2021, he was named Top Attorney of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Mr. Wohl has also been recognized by Marquis Who's Who for his accomplishments and substantial contributions to society.

Looking back, Mr. Wohl credits his success to his tenacity, skill to bargain, and commitment to staying honest and enthusiastic in all business endeavors. When he is not working, he likes spending time with his family and traveling. Mr. Wohl intends to finish housing projects in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana in the future. He spends his leisure time actively involved in special interest organizations that strive to give medical help in the Covid-19 pandemic environment.
