TIPS or The Interlocal Purchasing System, is a national purchasing cooperative that offers access to competitively procured purchasing contracts to its membership and is housed and managed by the Region 8 Education Service Center in Texas.

TIPS has fulfilled the competitive bidding requirements imposed on public agencies allowing them to easily select the most qualified sports surface and facility provider in the U.S. without the timely and costly expense of the bid process.

As a pre-approved TIPS vendor, Hellas is able to provide TIPS members preferential pricing for synthetic sports fields, running tracks and courts to the hundreds of TIPS members throughout Texas. The U.S.Membership is free and available to entities such as state and local governments, schools, universities and non-profit organizations.

“TIPS members should continue to have the ability to choose the best vendor for their sports facility needs without compromising quality, and Hellas’ continued partnership with TIPS makes this a possibility,” Hawley also stated.

TIPS-USA VP of Construction David Mabe says, “TIPS is very excited about the year that Hellas Construction had with our purchasing cooperative. Hellas was only 1 of 2 turf companies to be listed in our top 25 revenue generating companies, and was the number one turf company in Texas, where TIPS is located. The future is very bright for Hellas Construction as they continue to work with TIPS members across the nation.”

Among TIPS members that saved time and resourcs through Hellas’ TIPS contract in 2018 were Bells ISD baseball and softball fields, Grand Saline ISD stadium renovations, Sheldon ISD CE King Stadium Turf and Dublin ISD Track/Field Facility.
