Matthew J. Muller, ASA, director with HealthCare Appraisers, was recently named by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) as one of seven 2019 ASA Rising Stars. The ASA is a multi-discipline, non-profit, international organization of professional appraisers, and its mission is to foster the public trust of its members and the appraisal profession through compliance with the highest levels of ethical and professional standards. Muller was recognized as an emerging leader in the profession who embodies the ASA’s values.
This year, the Rising Star Committee selected winners from over 50 entries nominated by fellow valuation professionals. Honorees were announced at ASA’s Advanced Business Valuation and International Appraisers Conference in New York City, where they were recognized as among the brightest of young valuation professionals who have demonstrated success throughout the fiscal year. “On behalf of HealthCare Appraisers, we congratulate Matt on this well-deserved recognition,” said Daryl Johnson, managing partner of HealthCare Appraisers. “Matt is an outstanding team member who brings incredible value to clients and the profession.”
Muller is currently the Business Valuation Director at HealthCare Appraisers’ Denver, Colorado office where he has provided advisory services for business valuation, litigation support, healthcare provider compensation relationships, and other financial matter for nearly a decade. His experience includes working with healthcare organizations and a wide range of professionals on complex transactions involving entities operating in the healthcare industry. Many of these transactions involve Stark, Anti-Kickback or other regulatory implications, requiring analysis of fair market value and or commercial reasonableness. Most recently, in developing HealthCare Appraisers’ 2019 ASC Valuation and Benchmarking Surveys, he contributed to the greater understanding of the national market for ambulatory surgery centers in the United States. Muller currently serves as the vice-president of ASA’s Denver Chapter. Muller earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University.
