RE-RECORDING MIXER AND SUPERVISING SOUND EDITOR CRAIG MANN SIGNS WITH FORMOSA GROUP’S FEATURES DIVISION.
Formosa Group, an industry leader and top creative innovator in post-production sound, revealed today that award-winning re-recording mixer and supervising sound editor Craig Mann will be joining Formosa Group’s Features team. Mann will be working with Formosa Group’s expanding ensemble of some of film’s most iconic sound experts, based out of Formosa’s Santa Monica location.
“Craig is an accomplished and versatile award-winning sound artist,” stated Formosa Group’s CEO, Robert C. Rosenthal. “We are thrilled he is joining Formosa Group and we look forward to future collective success and achievement.”
Mann may be best known for his award-winning work, such as the iconic film, Whiplash, which earned Mann multiple award wins for his sound, including an Oscar, BAFTA, AMPS and beyond, as well as his Primetime Emmy Sound Mixing nominations for Paramount Pictures’ Waco and HBO’s The Pacific.
When asked about moving forward as the newest member of Formosa Group’s flourishing Features team, Mann commented, “Formosa Group heads up the sharpest management team in town. It felt like a natural fit to come over and work with them, to further expand my footprint in the business. Formosa has a deep talent pool and being able to provide sound mixing support to some of these supervisors, as well as continue to grow my own relationships, is something I’m looking forward to doing with them.”
Mann’s lifelong passion has always been telling stories through the creation and utilization of sound. He started experimenting with sound at a young age, which later led him to his formal education with the Music Engineering program, Music Industry Arts at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. After years of training under several world-renowned sound mixers, Mann pursued his own career, as a re-recording mixer and supervising sound editor, and his roster of impressive feature projects grew to include, IFC Films’ Donnybrook, which was recently featured at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, Bleecker Street Media’s Eye in the Sky, Open Road Films’ Marshall, Lionsgate’s All Eyez on Me, all three films in FilmDistrict’s Insidious series and more.
