We are pleased to announce the “Dr. Michael and Donna Ebertz Scholarship” for the 2018-2019 school year for the University of North Dakota. This prestigious scholarship will be awarded to one deserving medical student, so that he or she may contribute to the medical field in their own unique way. This individual will one day help people in the field of their specialty, making the world a healthier place one patient at a time.
The UND School of Medicine
The UND School of Medicine & Health Science is the only medical school in North Dakota. It has offered a 4-year medical degree since 1976. It admits approximately 78 students into its medical program each year and provides a comprehensive hands-on learning experience. This expedites the learning process while giving real-world experience to its students, making them ready for what’s to come.
The scholarships provided to UND school of Medicine students gives more than a pathway for future skin care doctors, surgeons, and medical care providers across the board to attain the careers of their choice. These scholarships have also changed the landscape of student debt. UND School of Medicine at one time had one of the highest student debt averages in the nation. Now, due to these scholarships, medical student debt is well below the national average when compared to other medical schools throughout the U.S.
Dr. Michael Ebertz, MD: Twin City Community Skin Care Specialist
“Dr. Ebertz attended the University of North Dakota and graduated with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, Summa Cum Laude. He graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha in 1992. He completed his internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in 1992 and successfully completed residency in 1996 in Dermatology at the University of Minnesota.”
Dr. Michael Ebertz, MD, is proud to be apart of this scholarship event that gives back to the community he loves. Dr. Ebertz has provided people throughout the Twin Cities area with specialty skin care services, such as skin cancer surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, laser treatments, and cosmetic procedures.
His care and devotion to his community has resulted in families who have been able to spend more time with each other, people having received treatments they desperately needed, and individuals who are finally happy with themselves.
Now, for the 4th year in a row, Dr. Michael Ebertz and his wife Donna will proudly award a scholarship to a medical student who will go on to save lives and better the community they wish to serve.
Past Recipients
Proud recipients, Heather Kaluzniak, Kimberly Herman, Mark Hovland, Amber Nielsen each have either gone on to make their mark within their respective communities or are well on their way due to the “Michael and Donna Ebertz Scholarship”. Each are well-deserving and have ambition, motivation, and are an inspiration to their professors and classmates.
