About Dr. M. Asif Taqi and Vascular Neurology Southern California
M. Asif Taqi, MD grew up and went to medical school in Karachi, Pakistan’s most populous city. He made up his mind in the 9th grade to pursue a career in medicine. It was the enormous, complex mysteries of the brain that captivated him and drew his interests toward neuroscience and vascular neurology.
Dr. Taqi moved to the United States to study neuroscience and completed his studies at Brown University. After Brown, he completed a residency in neurology and fellowships in vascular neurology, neurocritical care, and endovascular interventional neuroradiology at the University of Tennessee and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
At Vascular Neurology Southern California, Dr. Taqi is joined by his practice manager Stephanie, medical assistant Grace, and research co-coordinator Anastasia. He is also the medical director for the neuroscience program at Lost Robles and West Hills Hospital. Dr. Taqi is a senior member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS), a fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA), and a member of the Society of Vascular and Intervention Neurology (SVIN).
