Dr. Lev Bangiyev, DO, Professor in Clinical Radiology for Stony Brook University and Neuroradiologist at Stony Brook University Hospital, was just recently selected as Top Professor of the Year in Clinical Radiology for 2019 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the field.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With having more than a decades of professional experience as a seasoned and trusted Radiologist and Assistant Professor, Dr. Bangiyev has certainly proven himself as an extraordinary professional, and expert in the field.Dr. Bangiyev is a dynamic, results-driven leader who has demonstrated success not only as a Professor in Clinical Radiology and Neuroradiology for Stony Brook University Medical Center, but in every position he has ever held.His impressive repertoire of prior positions held were Chief Resident for SUNY Downstate Medical Center at Long Island College Hospital, Neuroradiology Fellow and Neuroradiology Translational Research Fellow for NYU Langone Medical Center.Dr. Bangiyev’s key expertise is in neuroradiology, PET-MRI, Advanced neuroimaging, and Physician Relations.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bangiyev has received awards, accolades and has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2019, he is being considered to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professional Magazine), and was selected as Top Professor of the Year in Clinical Radiology by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).In 2013 he was the recipient of the Stephen A. Kieffer Award amd received the Bronze Medal in 2010.
Dr. Bangiyev received his Bachelor of Science Degree from St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professionals, his Medical Degree from Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, and his Doctor of Osteopathy from New York Institute of Technology, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Looking back, Dr. Bangiyev attributes his success to his education, mentors he had along the way and his passion for research.He says his work is very gratifying and hopes that others will consider a career in Radiology.When not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.For the future, he hopes to continue making a difference in people’s lives any way that he can.
