Cope Plastics, Inc. – Alton, IL attended the 62nd Annual International Association of Plastics Distribution Convention & Plastics Showcase in Washington, D.C. in October. The IAPD brings together manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, recyclers, manufacturers’ representatives and service providers for the plastic sheet, rod, tube and profile industry.
Each year, the organization presents awards to honored members in various categories. This year, the IAPD announced the 2018 Environmental Excellence Award recipients, recognizing accomplishments of companies in the development of environmentally friendly materials and the manufacture of plastics in an environmentally responsible manner. IAPD awarded Cope with the Gold Environmental Excellence Award. Cope has expanded its recycling program to include 36 different grades of plastic, which make up nearly 90 percent of the material distributed through or consumed by the company.
"Our IAPD members once again have shown their commitment to environmental stewardship in 2018," said IAPD Environmental Committee Chair Pat Barrett. "Year over year, we see our members improving their environmental programs and investing more in sustainable practices during the manufacturing and distribution of multi-use performance plastics. The Environmental Committee congratulates our 2018 Environmental Award winners!"
Education is a big part of IAPD’s mission, and Cope received a Gold Award for the IAPD 2018 Education Circle of Champions. This category awards companies for their commitment to continuing plastics education and sales training through IAPD’s certification programs and education resources.
Lastly, IAPD awarded Cope with the Bronze IAPD Marketing Excellence Award for actively promoting performance plastics and the benefits it brings to an array of industries and manufacturing processes.
