LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, January 21, 2021 -- Cannabis research company CiiTECH will work together with the expert-led MCCS committee to further educate, inform and release new insights in the developments of Cannabis treatments and products available to the UK.

The educational grant will involve interviews, guest speakers, webinars, as well as validating the release of CiiTECH Pharmacist Education Course -- which is the first course of its kind to hit the UK. “The MCCS is very pleased to be working alongside CiiTECH who is a world leading cannabis and research company. We very much look forward to this collaboration” says Prof. Mike Barnes

CiiTECH is dedicated to cannabis research and cannabis based product development for the UK and global markets. The consumer focused company works with industry experts and R&D companies to spearhead the development of latest technologies for use in its portfolio of cannabis brands.

“As Novel Food regulations roll out in the UK this year we expect our best selling high strength CBD products to end up marketed in the same framework as medical cannabis. CiiTECH expects its most established and flagship brand Provacan to remain as one of the most trusted CBD brands in the UK.” Says Clifton Flack, Founder and CEO of CiiTECH.

The Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society (MCCS) is made up of clinicians with International and UK experience. This not-for-profit community of medical cannabis pioneers are the first prescribers of this treatment in the UK.

As cannabis is making way into healthcare, the society is providing the medical and scientific community valuable research, training and expert support through a confidential and independent network that shares experiences in patient consultation, prescribing and accessing products and treatments.

CiiTECH will be working closely with MCCS Chair, Neurologist Professor Mike Barnes who has dedicated the latter part of his career to medical cannabis excellence, education and clinical leadership. “We are very grateful for this generous grant for our work in training and educating doctors and healthcare professionals in the science and art of cannabis as a medicine Says Prof. Mike Barnes

Also working closely with CiiTECH will be Executive Director Hannah Deacon, the society’s coordinator and patient advocate. Since the law changed on 1st November 2018, her dedication to campaigning and advocating for patients rights has been well noted across the world and has earned her an international reputation for achieving change in the cannabis sector.

Hannah’s renowned story of her son Alfie Dingley and their successful campaign with ‘End Our Pain’ led to Alfie’s doctors receiving the first schedule one license to prescribe whole plant cannabis on the NHS.

“We look forward to this collaborative effort. Working with the combined knowledge and experience of both teams brings a new ray of hope and further opens the pathway to medical cannabis in the UK” says Sara Flack, VP Brand Marketing, CiiTECH, who will be working closely with the two companies on the collaboration.
