Celebrated Summer Chess Camp to be Tuition Free in 2020

2020-06-23 16:00:00 - United States, California, San Jose - (PR Distribution™)

For the last quarter century, Chris Torres has focused his passion for chess education into organizing popular summer chess camps in California. These annual chess camps have paved the way for the success of thousands of children in chess and attracted students from several neighboring states and even foreign countries.

Because children are facing so many disruptions to their normal lives, Chris Torres will be offering his world famous summer chess camp online and free of charge (a $250 value) to any family that applies.

“During difficult times as a child, I learned to escape on a chessboard and enjoy the freedom, creativity and friendships the game fostered. The chessboard became a playground from everyday life that encouraged my friends to discard their differences and spend time together in deep thought. This summer in particular, I know many young people are really in search for such positive experiences. For this reason, I am making my annual summer chess camp tuition free as a gift to all children who wish to benefit from the game chess this summer.”

Regardless of their current skill level, in just one week of training with Chris Torres, your child will gain:

  • The Valuable tools and skills needed to excel as a chess player.
  • An extraordinary chess camp experience with a top-tier chess instructor.
  • The confidence and motivation necessary to surpass their chess goals and fast track improvement.

Camp begins on Monday, July 27th and meets everyday until Friday, July 31st. Participants will spend two and a half hours on chess activities per day from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.

All children who complete the camp will receive a certificate. Special prizes will also be awarded for top performers in different categories. Students will also be entered into a slow-play tournament specifically designed to encourage a long term commitment to chess and thoughtful play by requiring only 1 move per day. At the conclusion of this tournament additional prizes will be rewarded.
