Newtown Square, PA - CaseNetwork announced today that the company is providing a second online COVID-19 educational module, COVID-19 in PREGNANCY to all women’s health professionals and trainees. This is being done by the company to ensure these caregivers are equipped with a synthesis of the latest medical knowledge and guidelines to successfully treat their pregnant patients during this rapidly changing pandemic.
This case is presented as a simulated-patient experience of a 29-year-old, term pregnant woman and goes over the coronavirus differential diagnosis in pregnancy, important diagnostic tests, management including infectious disease precautions in the hospital, delivery considerations and care of the newborn. The simulated case follows CDC, WHO, Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines and will be updated twice a week to ensure it includes the most current recommendations.
CaseNetwork’s CEO, Jeffrey Levy, MD commented: "As an Ob/Gyn, I understand the complexities associated with the care of a pregnant woman, fetus, and newborn infected with a severe viral illness. I believe it is CaseNetwork’s public service duty as an online medical education company to provide our healthcare providers on the front lines whatever support we can to help them fight this pandemic."
This educational module can be accessed from the CaseNetwork home page at www.casenetwork.com. It is available as an online program or a phone app.
