Blue Clover Devices Brings Silicon Valley Innovation to Germany

05/30/2019 12:00 - United States, California, San Francisco - (PR Distribution™)

Pete Staples, President of Blue Clover Devices, gives first public demonstration of the Production Line Tool (PLT), a cloud native test automation device at the Automotive Testing Expo.

On stage, Pete Staples began his presentation by iterating the marvelous changes affecting the automotive industry. Staples explained that the ACES (Autonomous, Connected, Electric, and Shared) trend demonstrates the importance of IoT for the automotive industry. Because of this dominating trend, the automotive industry faces a dilemma in sustainably producing, testing, and integrating these high-tech IoT components into cars.

“That’s where cloud native test automation comes in,” explained Staples. By introducing the Production Line Tool (PLT) to the audience, Staples hopes to solve the problem of testing and producing IoT devices for an industry that has traditionally relied on perfecting mechanical components. He explained that the PLT is unique in that it’s an automated test device that comes connected to a secure cloud infrastructure (PLTcloud). Being a cloud-native test automation device, the PLT is the first of its kind. In practice, this allows development teams to deploy firmware iterations and view accurate test results without having to be near the production line. On the production line, tests are more accurately performed and recorded, as the PLT only needs to be connected to the device being tested in order to run test procedures and log the subsequent results into PLTcloud.
