BlazeAir Productions, a production company out of Minnesota that specializes in High Performance Drones and has been a part of Emmy-Nominated projects with HBO Sports and Major League Baseball just added another memorable drone flight to their resume.
While the marketing and entertainment world has seen the rise of drone fly-throughs over the past couple of years, the goal of BlazeAir is not to just continue that trend at any location, but to find the most creative and unique places that this style has filmed where it has not been done before. That’s where Circa Las Vegas came into play. After the work of BlazeAir was brought to the attention of the Executives of Circa they knew that they had to find a way to partner up.
The planning for this project, which was filmed in early January 2022, began in November of 2021. What initially was just going to be a drone flight outside at Circa’s Stadium Swim to feature the pool area - as well as the world’s largest outdoor sports book - quickly became a much larger - and newsworthy - project when Circa found out BlazeAir has the capability to fly their specialized custom drones through the casino floor. Something that hasn’t been done in Las Vegas before.
While BlazeAir has done these fly throughs in stadiums, restaurants, malls, hotels, and more, it was in August of 2021 - while working an outdoor music festival at Grand Casino in Hinkley, Minnesota - that the idea of a Casino drone fly-through would be one of those perfect locations for this style of filming. So, while at that music festival, they connected with the Executives of Grand Casino, and later that weekend completed their first Casino Drone Fly Through.
That caught the attention of many, including entertainment and marketing companies that put BlazeAir and Circa in touch. “We knew this was going to have that ‘next big thing’ potential, and can’t thank Circa enough for having faith in our crew to execute this fly through inside of their casino!” said Jacob Blaeser, Co-Owner of BlazeAir Productions.
Chris Spangler, aka Phluxy, who is the Director of FPV Drone Operations at BlazeAir, happened to be in Las Vegas that same week as one of the Drone Pilots in the Drone Racing League Championship that was held at T-Mobile Arena. “To say this was the biggest week of my life would be an understatement. Not only was our DRL Championship Race held at T-Mobile Arena, but then two days after that our BlazeAir crew got to fly through a Vegas Casino!” said Phluxy of the experience.
What started as a company to feature, market and promote Minnesota resorts, golf courses and small businesses, has quickly evolved into much more for BlazeAir Productions. “It’s always cool to have your name at the forefront of something, and that’s what we did with Circa. Being the first company to get permission to fly a drone through the Vegas casino floor is pretty awesome.” added Sam Pfeiffer, Co-Owner and Senior Producer of BlazeAir Productions.
BlazeAir already has over 15 music festivals booked for 2022, and since this Circa fly through video was released on March 28th, they’ve been getting contacted by Casinos and Event Centers from all over the world.
