Author Chris Burch is proud to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for his forthcoming book that teaches children about bullying. Every 7 minutes a child is bullied. On average 1 out of 4 children will be a victim of bullying. Approximately 160,000 children per day skip out on school due to some type of bullying. It is Mr. Burch’s goal to help remedy a small portion of that with his new book, “How to be a Superhero and Stand up for your Friends”. Aimed at elementary school-aged children, with a focus on recognizing what bullying really is and how to handle it Chris hopes that teaching the children young will have a greater impact on their life later.

“I was bullied as a child in both elementary school and junior high”, says Burch. “In fact, it sometimes became violent. Then when I had a son and he started elementary school, the cycle continued. I decided it was time to teach him about bullying, what it really was and the right way to stand up for yourself so that the cycle would not continue.”

Fully illustrated and fun, the book teaches children how to recognize the difference between someone being rude, someone being mean and someone being a bully. It also teaches children that together they are bigger than any one bully. That together they can be their own superheroes in the fight against bullying.

Chris is a full-time entertainer, father, husband, and Anti-Bullying advocate. He has been writing since elementary school and had his first piece published in a local newspaper while in junior high school. He has gone on to write several articles for trade publications, scripts for short films, and a comedy stage show. This his first major children’s book.
