All Good Work Foundation Expands to Silicon Valley

11/13/2018 13:00 - SAN JOSE, CA - (PR Distribution™)

All Good Work, a foundation that connects social impact organizations with donated workspace, has expanded its operations to Silicon Valley with a network of 15 flexible workspace Hosts.

Since it was founded in 2016, All Good Work has connected dozens of social impact organizations with donated workspace in and around New York City. The Foundation is actively branching out and has now launched a new program in Silicon Valley, CA, to serve nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay area, specifically in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Through the generosity of 15 workspace hosts, All Good Work has secured 32 donated seats in Silicon Valley, and plans to double that number in the coming months.

Ahead of its official launch, All Good Work has already assisted its first Silicon Valley Resident, urban community farm Veggielution. In October 2018, All Good Work connected the Veggielution team with donated seats at NextSpace San José Second Street Powered by Pacific Workplaces.  Three other outstanding local nonprofits have signed onto the program, including African Diaspora Network, San Jose Spotlight, and Somos Mayfair, and will begin their Residency soon.

Nate Heasley, Co-Founder and Executive Director of All Good Work Foundation, said:

“We set out to create a social responsibility program for the coworking industry. It’s thanks to the generosity of our workspace Hosts that we’re able to help nonprofit organizations by placing them into local coworking communities, where they can get the support and infrastructure they need to follow their vision and fulfil their growth objectives.”

The program works by enlisting flexible workspaces who have space to spare, which may be a few seats in a coworking space or a small private office. Local nonprofits are invited to “Apply for Residency” and are interviewed by a member of All Good Work to ascertain their requirements and objectives, which enables them to be matched with the best possible environment for their needs.

To date, All Good Work has placed 37 organizations in donated workspace.

To mark All Good Work’s arrival in Silicon Valley, the team is holding a launch event on November 14th at Common Grounds in San José, one of their Host workspaces, to enable local social impact organizations, coworking operators, and members of the public and private sector to learn more about the Residency program.

The following Host workspaces have already donated seats to the All Good Work Foundation’s Social Impact Residency Program:

Other coworking spaces and business centers in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties that are interested in joining the program are encouraged to contact Amy Feldman, Program Director for Silicon Valley on 408-686-4542 or amy.feldman@allgoodwork.org.

All Good Work is grateful to its donors for their support in establishing a true Silicon Valley program -- the Heising-Simons Foundation, the Sobrato Family Foundation, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
