A Year in Beauty: Dr.Numb Looks Back at 2018.

12/26/2018 11:12 - RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (PR Distribution™)

As this year is coming to an end, Dr.Numb, the leading topical anesthetic cream, is looking at some of the biggest trends in beauty industry in 2018 and making its predictions, which of these will accompany us into 2019.

Topical anesthetics are widely used in numerous beauty treatments: microblading, dermarolling, laser treatments, injections – you name it. Below are just some of those procedures, which were on everyone’s radars this year:

Micro-Botox

The latest and the greatest treatment, micro-botox is the alternative to traditional botox. Micro-botox can easily be performed over you lunch break, it doesn’t involve any bleeding or down-time, and it is (almost) painless, but we still recommend to use numbing cream to avoid any pain whatsoever. Micro-botox can target the new areas, like under eyes, under brow etc; it uses superficial microinjections of diluted Hyaluronic Acid or other fillers such as Restalyne or Juvederm to close up pores and make the skin look younger and smoother.

Dermarolling

Apart from dermarolling as an in-office treatment, many have taken it to at-home level skincare routine. The dermarolling (or microneedling) is a skin treatment, which involves minor skin pricking by the needles of dermaroller, which encourages the skin to produce more collagen and makes it look more fresh. Professional dermarollers have longer needles, so that they can penetrate the skin on deeper levels, but they also need a good pre-numbing and a professional to perform the treatment. The at-home dermarollers have shorter needles and don’t bring such amazing results as a professional session, but are good enough for daily skin refreshing routine.

Nonsurgical Nose Jobs

The rhinoplasty, or the ‘nose job’, is one of the most popular surgical beauty procedures of all time. Although, now there is an alternative for those who want to change their nose “just a little bit” – a nonsurgical nose job. Thanks to aesthetic medicine progress, now you can change or improve the form of your nose with injectable fillers, which doctor places on determined area of nasal region of the face. The skilled doctor can shape a perfect nose in a time as short as 15 minutes. You will still have time for a coffee before getting back to the office!

PRP for Hair Loss

Hair loss is one of the most worrying beauty issues, especially among women. Being quite a common condition, the androgenetic alopecia can be diagnosed with patients of totally different age, starting as early as twenties. PRP, or 'platelet-rich plasma’, is a new treatment, which uses protein-rich plasma from patient’s blood for injections in the areas where hair loss is experienced. The platelet-rich plasma, introduced in right concentrations directly into a patient’s scalp, helps to awake the hair follicular and stimulate hair growth. Done in-office, it only takes about 20 minutes, but always remember to numb the treated area well, as scalp is very sensitive for injections!

Lip Injections

As popular as ever, lip injections maintain at the top of most popular beauty procedures. It is difficult to argue: nothing catches attention as fuller, fresh-looking lips. Although, this year the tendency is slowly changing: from exaggerated, often artificially-looking lips, the choice is switching towards more natural look.
