The Tech Academy Joins the US Air Force's Project NEXUS

07/26/2019 08:00 - United States, Texas, Austin - (PR Distribution™)

The Tech Academy is proud to announce their involvement in the US Air Force’s Project NEXUS.

Project NEXUS is a concerted effort by the US Air Force's Air Education and Training Command in conjunction with AFWERX-Austin to equip airmen with high-demand, state-of-the-art technical skills to solve internal Air Force problems through training from industry-leading professionals.

As the winner of the 2019 Best Coding Boot Camp Award, The Tech Academy is delivering intensive training to enlisted, officer, and civilian Airmen. The first class has started and covers data science, mobile iOS development, user interface and user experience design.

This inaugural class will take place at The Tech Academy’s Austin campus (near AFWERX-Austin).

Jack Stanley, Co-Founder of The Tech Academy, had this to say about the project: “We are strong supporters of the military. To sum up our feelings about being involved, I would say we are proud and honored. We have a strong purpose to serve those that serve our country and we are going to do our best to ensure these great people are well-rounded software developers who are able to competently perform their assigned duties. We have several campuses across the United States which are open to future classes.

“The Mission Statement of The Tech Academy is: To graduate junior developers that excel in the basics of computer programming and thereafter have successful careers in the I.T. field, and whose actions raise industry standards and surpass client expectations. The Tech Academy feels this project aligns perfectly with our purpose as a school.

“We are excited to do our part and are looking forward to continued collaboration.”

Each of the Air Force students will not only gain skills in their assigned fields, they will: learn the basics of computer science, obtain a firm grounding in technology as a subject, become proficient in web development, and get trained as entry-level software developers.

Though there are several elements about The Tech Academy’s training approach that sets them apart from other educational institutions and technology schools, there is one vital factor that is worth mentioning: Students are not required to have any previous technical knowledge or coding experience. The programs are designed so that any relatively intelligent person can complete them with success.

Therefore, this training will be accessible to all Airmen chosen to partake in project NEXUS.
